From Pool Service to Luxury Photography

Dan Riley V began his journey in the pool industry nearly 20 years ago. In 2008, he took the first steps toward building a pool service company in Southern California from the ground up. With dedication and a commitment to education and excellence, he and his family grew the company into one of the top three service providers in the region. After nearly 15 years of serving his community, Dan and his wife made the decision to sell the company and relocate to Georgia, seeking a quieter, more rural lifestyle closer to family.

A Passion Turned Profession

In November 2021, a vacation to Hawaii sparked an unexpected new passion. Dan purchased his first camera, unaware that it would transform his entire perspective on life. What began as a hobby quickly became an obsession. “One doesn’t just spend a few thousand dollars on a camera to let it sit in a dark corner,” he says. He immersed himself in photography, capturing everything he could, but his passion for the pool industry and architectural design soon led him to a singular focus: Luxury Pool Photography. While working as a project manager for a pool builder in Georgia, Dan committed himself to studying photography—eventually refining his craft in architectural imagery.

Establishing a Name in the Luxury Market

In August 2024, Dan made the leap to pursue luxury pool photography full-time. In less than six months, his work has been published in nearly every major industry magazine, national newspapers, regional publications, and high-end coffee table books. His accomplishments include a cover feature on the Winter 2025 edition of Pool Magazine. Today, Dan collaborates with some of the industry’s most celebrated designers and builders, showcasing breathtaking outdoor spaces that define luxury living.

A Commitment to Connection

Outside of his work, Danny, as he’s called by friends and family, is still usually working—whether continuing his studies in photography, managing industry-focused Facebook groups, or capturing the beauty of nature through his lens. He thrives on building meaningful relationships, both personally and professionally.
